All natural deodorants is something I wanted to address in the post because many of us put toxins on our body every day and don’t think about it. A question that came up inspired by the video I posted where I talk about Detoxifying your Bathroom (shown below).

It's always important to us when a local book store decides to take on our book coming from an authors perspective. The local thing means a lot, it really does. As authors we've worked hard to produce our final product and we want it on store shelves, we want people to see it and we want other to have a chance at reading it. And what better place than to be in a bookstore.
We all know what’s like to over indulge during the holidays, in fact we know all too well especially since Christmas parties are here and too much dinner followed by too many irresistible desserts are tempting us more than ever. There’s so many tips on how to avoid times like this, but what happens when we don’t. What happens when we let loose, we release stress and eat everything passed by our seat? What happens when we hit every option for deep fried appetizers, extra turkey, potatoes and more?
Eating clean throughout the holidays isn’t such an easy thing. In fact we have more temptation with toxic food, goodies and presents than we do throughout the year. Just because its holiday season doesn’t mean we have to over indulge in every temptation that comes our way. Sure a brand new year is on its way and New Year’s resolutions are soon to be on the rise but again, just because we have so many new things coming and it’s possible to procrastinate until next week or next year doesn’t mean we have to participate in every desert tray that walks by the room.
We often think about toxins we’re putting in our body but how often do we think about toxins we put on our body? Most of us know our skin is our biggest organ but did you know we can absorb chemicals through our skin faster than by consuming them from food?
How to detox your body through sleep is something we rarely think about. We don’t realize we actually put more stress on our bodies by not getting a restful sleep and if we really want to detox our bodies and reduce stress then getting a good night sleep is very important.
How to detoxify yourself through processed foods is a topic I wanted to cover because prevention is something I often talk about. Our society is so wrapped around the mind set of ‘treating’ that I think we lose out by not looking for ways to prevent.
The benefits of a nutrition journal is something I want to share because I’m so very excited to announce I finally have one to offer. This one is slightly different which I’ll get into shortly however I named this a ‘success journal’.
So first off I just wanted to say a giant THANK YOU for everyone that participated in the ebook offer I released on Global News. Over the last week I personally sent out hundreds of emails which was a lot of work but something I wanted to do. Yes that’s right, I said ‘wanted’. You see, with so many things automated today, I feel we lose that personal touch that use to mean so much in our society. Making a real connection, having a honest relationship and acting like human beings instead of robots. We have automated responses for email, automatic downloads and computers directing you to every new page except to an actual person.
Getting on the global news is a new experience for me. I’ve been on tv before, I’m been interviewed for newspapers and played in some pretty intense games. So does that mean I’m not nervous about being on tv, of course not. Any time you’re taken outside of your comfort zone nervousness arises. I recently interviewed an Olympic Athlete on the radio and she was nervous which at first surprised me but then I remembered, anything new or outside of your comfort zone will bring up discomfort which I don’t believe there’s anything wrong with. I’ve played baseball all my life and I still remember the feeling the night before a playoff game, which isn’t much different from how I feel tonight.
At one point in my life I would have thought, ‘oooh this is my big chance’, ‘this could be my big break’, and if I hadn’t gone through what I have, the successes but more so failures I’d probably still have that mindset. But the fact is, I don’t believe in ‘a big break’ nor do I believe in an overnight success. I don’t think one moment defines anyone (unless you’re Buckner, just kidding baseball humor). Seriously though, I don’t believe one moment will ever decide who I am or what I do. It’s what we do consistently, day after day, without recognition is who we become on our own accord, not by fate or destiny or anything else we may believe (course this is my own opinion). Will tomorrow be my big break, doubtful but will it be apart of who I am and what I’ve been doing for years, of course it will be.
If I learned anything from traveling the world following my passion, hosting a radio show, or designing a supplement is that consistent persistence is the answer to success. If you’re waiting for your big break, you very well could be waiting your entire life; if you’re not willing to put in the time, effort and sacrifices it takes to be success there’s a small chance you will be.
How did I get on TV?
To be quite honest with you it was my Aunt’s suggestions. I never thought I’d have any reason to be on the show till my Aunt brought it up. After that, it took months for anything to happen, email after email; at one point I made Calgary’s best seller list and sent that in another email. 6 months later and a handful of (polite, not harassing) emails I was booked with a spot. At no time did I ever feel I deserve to be on the show, nor did I expect to be on. This is a endless action that I do for a number of different businesses or project I run and it all starts at consistent persistence and if you can let go of expectations you’ll be much further than I when I started.
As you just read, this was my Aunt’s idea, the loving support I have from my family really is endless and I wouldn’t be here or anywhere without them. Those people that I see, talk to, write to, each and every day and even the ones that I don’t, those that shouldn’t need a name mention because they know how much they mean to me, I couldn’t be more grateful for you in my life.
